When To Sell

Selalu ingat bahwa market tidak pernah peduli dengan apa yang kita pikirkan, opini tentang saham tidak akan ada kecuali refleksi chart sebagai gambaran psikologis pasar.

"TRADE WHAT YOU OBSERVE, NOT WHAT YOUR BELIEF".

Ada 7 kejadian /even yang mengharuskan kita untuk memutuskan menjual saham :

1. Initial Protective Stop (IPS)--- base on preservation capital, menjaga modal, sebelum berpikir profit; terutama saat kita yakin salah posisi buy. Saat kita masuk dalam momentum positif (bullish) ternyata market reversal bearish; jangan ragu untuk melakukan IPS, lebih baik menjaga kas; dan segera cut loss.

2. Gaps against the prevailing trend === saat saham up trend, tahu-tahu muncul gap ke bawah, dan saat itu kita dalam posisi mid/long term,  ingat bahwa adanya gap dan melawan trend adalah PATOLOGI/ANOMALI; jgn ragu untuk melepas posisi. 

3. Price targets === TP; yang paling mudah saat harga menyentuh resistennya (harian/mid term) segera jadikan sebagai batasan TP untuk melepas saham, dan lakukan take profit. Jangan serakah/greed agar mendapatkan posisi yang lainnya atau segera short saham sendiri lagi.

4. Hard trailing stops  

A sell trailing stop order sets the stop price at a fixed amount below the market price with an attached "trailing" amount. As the market price rises, the stop price rises by the trail amount, but if the stock price falls, the stop loss price doesn't change, and a market order is submitted when the stop price is hit. This technique is designed to allow an investor to specify a limit on the maximum possible loss, without setting a limit on the maximum possible gain. "Buy" trailing stop orders are the mirror image of sell trailing stop orders, and are most appropriate for use in falling markets.

7. Time stops ==== jam, sesi,day, minggu
